Kairouan was founded as a centre of Islamic learning, and the Great Mosque (Mosque of Uqba) remains a place where people study the Qur’an and the Arabic language. For history and visiting information, see our Great Mosque guide.
Lessons and dictation
The mosque’s teaching circles include dictation (imla’) and lessons given by scholars in Arabic. The official channel shares many of these sessions, so students and visitors everywhere can follow them.
